Hey members, Some of you have been asking about the best footwear to wear on court, so….
Here are examples of shoes that suit our courts really well. The main thing seems to be to have little pimply studs which give you good grip in most conditions.
The examples are made by K Swiss and Babolat, and of course there may be others. A good sports shop will advise on which shoes give best grip. Evans Sports Shop in Fitzwilliam are particularly helpful.
Wearing running shoes is a really bad idea as they have the wrong soles and lack the support required for tennis.
Wearing unsuitable shoes is dangerous and may damage the courts.
If you are unsure please ask a committee member or a more experienced player (after checking their shoes first!!)
